Data Architect - Insurance/London Market (New role)

Location: London
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2-3 days per week onsite
Contract: Outside IR35
Rate: Up to £510 per day
Start: Immediate/maximum 10-day notice preferred

We are urgently looking for an experienced Data Architect with 12+ years of London Market experience and strong, recent UK Insurance experience.

This is a specialist London Market role, so candidates must have genuine hands-on experience within the insurance market and a strong understanding of London Market data, processes and participants.

MUST HAVE

• 12+ years of London Market insurance experience
• Recent UK Insurance experience
• Strong London Market domain expertise
• Proven experience as a Data Architect/Database Architect/Senior Data Modeller
• Strong understanding of:
  • Brokers
  • Carriers
  • Coverholders
  • MGAs
  • Lloyd's/London Market
• Experience across insurance data domains including:
  • Placement
  • Policy
  • Claims
  • Exposure
  • Bordereaux
  • Risk Analytics
  • Underwriting
  • Reinsurance
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL experience
• Enterprise-scale data architecture and data modelling
• Conceptual, logical and physical data modelling
• Data integration, ETL/ELT, APIs, event-driven and batch processing
• Data migration and platform modernisation
• Data governance, quality, metadata and lineage
• Experience working within complex, highly regulated insurance environments

Technical Environment

Experience with some of the following is highly desirable:

PostgreSQL | SQL Server | AWS Aurora | RDS | Azure | Snowflake | Databricks | Synapse | Fabric | dbt | Informatica | Talend | Airflow | SSIS

Important

12+ years of London Market experience and recent UK Insurance experience are mandatory.

We are not looking for general Banking, Financial Services or generic Data Architect profiles without substantial London Market insurance experience.
