We are seeking an experienced Customs Compliance Coordinator to join a busy customs and logistics team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of Irish customs procedures who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while ensuring full compliance with customs regulations.
You will play a key role in managing customs clearances, supporting customers with compliance matters, maintaining internal procedures, and ensuring the business remains fully compliant with Irish customs legislation.
Location: Cork, Ireland
Salary: Up to €45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time
- Coordinate customs clearance documentation for a varied customer portfolio.
- Liaise daily with Irish Customs authorities to ensure the smooth movement of shipments.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and provide expert advice on customs compliance matters.
- Investigate and resolve customs-related issues quickly and efficiently.
- Ensure all customs processes comply with current Irish regulations and company procedures.
- Review and maintain customs policies, procedures and operational controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve compliance processes, reduce risk and implement system improvements.
- Work closely with internal departments and the wider logistics network to promote best practice.
- Support key account customers by providing efficient customs solutions tailored to their requirements.
- Keep fully up to date with changes to customs legislation and ensure new regulations are implemented effectively.
- Process Duty and VAT accurately while ensuring payments and collections are completed correctly.
- Manage customs queries, amendments and refund requests through to resolution.
- Review, update and maintain all departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Assist Sales and Account Management teams by identifying cost saving customs solutions for customers.
- Complete daily and weekly customs entry audits to maintain compliance standards.
- Deliver training to new team members and provide ongoing updates to existing staff on regulatory changes and best practices.
- 1-2 years' experience within a customs brokerage or customs compliance role.
- Strong knowledge of Irish customs regulations, procedures and systems.
- Experience preparing and processing import and export customs declarations.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Confident liaising with customers, customs authorities and colleagues at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience using customs software and PC-based systems.
