Contract: Temporary (initially 2 months, with potential to extend)

Hours: Monday to Friday, ideally 10:00am - 6:00pm (flexibility available)

Salary: Competitive / TBC

HRGO are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Customs Clearance Operator to join their team in Dover. This is an ASAP opportunity for a candidate with previous customs experience who is available to start quickly.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the smooth clearance of imports and exports, ensuring all customs procedures and documentation are completed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and processing import and export customs declarations
• Completing customs entries accurately and in line with current regulations
• Checking and processing customs documentation, including invoices and packing lists
• Ensuring correct classification of goods using commodity codes
• Liaising with customers, hauliers, freight forwarders, and relevant authorities
• Monitoring shipments and resolving any customs clearance issues
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with customs procedures

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience working in Customs Clearance is essential
• Good knowledge of import/export procedures and customs regulations
• Experience with customs systems (CDS/CHIEF) would be advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
