Key Purpose of the Role

The Customer Project Manager is responsible for managing customer projects in order to ensure the timely and successful delivery of products and services. The position requires strong communication skills, as well as the ability to understand customer needs and align internal teams to meet those needs. The role will include agreeing with the client timelines, changes to the project and reporting requirements and delivering on those requirements at an agreed frequency/regularity.

Key Accountabilities

The key accountabilities and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery of products and services.
  2. Engage with Bid forums and customers and support pre-sales activity to develop a pipeline plan.
  3. Create Project Initiation Documents and project plans that align with customer requirements and internal capabilities.
  4. Communicate project status to the customer and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  5. Identify and manage project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
  6. Ensure that all project deliverables are produced on time and to the required quality standard.
  7. Manage and motivate project team members to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  8. Provide regular and accurate project reporting to the Programme Manager and senior management.
  9. Provide input to Project Trackers for one-truth reporting.
  10. Participate in the development of project management processes and standards.
  11. Management of technical, business and resourcing projects.
  12. Management of assigned resources as appropriate to the implementation of project related activities.
  13. Prepare and maintain all project documentation such as initiation, delivery plans and budgets.
  14. Develop and maintain project plans and reporting documentation as necessary to ensure timely communication and successful delivery of assigned projects.
  15. Ensure deliverables meet required quality standards.
  16. Ensure adequate levels of documentation are produced as part of the Initiation stage.
  17. Develop and maintain a communications plan and keep the business communities appraised of project plans and related implications.
  18. Ensure business benefits can be realised or that risks inhibiting realisation are highlighted.
  19. Applying a strong commercial overview and tracking of project costs and revenues.
  20. Complete a 'Project Close Down Report' to include the learning.
  21. Act in accordance with our values and behaviours.

  23. Ensure your conduct is within our policies, including but not limited to the Company Handbook and Policies.

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the job holder may be required to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by their manager or a senior leader.

About you

  1. Significant experience as a project manager with a minimum of 2 years managing Customer projects.
  2. Experience within the telecoms industry.
  3. Knowledge of Microsoft Project Professional or similar project management tools.
  4. Must be innovative, flexible and adaptable in order to operate effectively within a fast-paced environment with a number of key programmes running simultaneously.
  5. Adopts a holistic view of the organisation to ensure projects are managed effectively across all workstreams end to end.
  6. Ability to solve problems and communicate decisions in a creative but measured way.
  7. Ability to ensure project delivery aligns to key strategic and operational objectives.
  8. Ability to develop and produce project progress reporting ensuring that it is timely, informative and effective.
  9. Ability to maintain a balance across all key elements of a project including financial, quality and people and customer expectations.
  10. Excellent organisational and leadership skills including leading by example to ensure that the correct values and behaviours are embedded in the business.
  11. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
