Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

Overview

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you'll bring Waitrose produce and Partner-led service to customers' doors. You will support the shop when not out on deliveries, assisting with stock replenishment and housekeeping to help the shop run efficiently in a friendly, welcoming team.

Night premium: Any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 will attract a premium of £3.75 per hour. This applies to existing Partners enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements as well.

Requirement: You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• You'll typically start your day in store and you'll be responsible for:
  • Checking your delivery routes for the day.
  • Loading and preparing your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
  • Ensuring all appropriate vehicle safety checks are complete on your van, maintaining full road compliance, health and safety.
  • Being an ambassador for the Waitrose brand with excellent customer service as your priority.
  • Helping customers with their shopping and building rapport based on trust and service.
  • Supporting the wider shop team when required with general shopkeeping tasks.

Essential skills/experience

• Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Great customer service skills.
• Time management skills.
• Able to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g., lifting crates, moving cages).
• Comfortable working independently with the ability to be self-motivated and adaptable.
• IT literate.

Desirable skills/experience

• Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles would be welcomed.

Additional information

Pay: £14.31 hourly

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours of Work: 7.25 hours of part-time work on Saturdays between 14:15 - 22:00.
