Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

About the role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you will bring Waitrose produce and partner-led service directly to customers' doors. You will support the shop team with daily tasks when not on the road, contributing to the efficient and welcoming running of the store.

Key Responsibilities

• Check delivery routes for the day.
• Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring orders are together for efficient delivery to customers.
• Complete the appropriate vehicle safety checks and maintain road safety and health and safety compliance.
• Represent the Waitrose brand on the road with a focus on excellent customer service.
• Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
• Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks as required.

Essential skills / experience

• Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong time management abilities.
• Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (lifting crates, moving cages).
• Ability to work independently, self-motivated and adaptable.
• IT literate.

Desirable skills / experience

• Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles is welcomed.

Additional information

Pay: £14.31 per hour

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 15 hours per week across seven days to include early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends.
