Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

Overview

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you'll bring Waitrose produce and Partner-led service to customers' doors. You'll support the shop when not on the road, assisting with stock replenishment and housekeeping to help the store run smoothly. Night Premium applies for hours between 22:00 and 06:00 at £3.75 per hour, including for existing Partners enrolled on Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements. You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.

Responsibilities

• Check your delivery routes for the day.
• Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring orders are ready for direct delivery to customers.
• Complete vehicle safety checks and maintain road compliance and health and safety standards.
• Represent the Waitrose brand on the road with excellent customer service as a priority.
• Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
• Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.

Essential skills and experience

• Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong time management abilities.
• Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g., lifting crates, moving cages).
• Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and adaptable.
• IT literate.

Desirable skills and experience

• Previous driving experience and knowledge of chilled vehicles.
