Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you'll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and partner led service right to our customers' doors, while also supporting the shop with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping when you're not on the road.

In addition to your contractual pay, any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 will attract a night premium of £3.75 per hour, and this also applies to existing partners enrolled on enhanced hours premium arrangements. You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Check your delivery routes for the day.
• Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
• Conduct all required vehicle safety checks, maintaining full road compliance, health and safety standards.
• Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand while on the road, keeping customer service as your number one priority.
• Help customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
• Support the wider shop team when required with general shop keeping tasks.

Essential skills/experience

• Full valid B Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Great customer service skills.
• Time management skills.
• Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g., lifting crates, moving cages).
• Comfortable working independently with motivation and adaptability.
• IT literate.

Desirable skills/experience

• Previous experience in a driving role and a knowledge of chilled vehicles would be welcomed.

Pay and Contract

Pay: £14.31 hourly
Contract type: Permanent
Hours of work: Varied full time hours (37.5hrs) across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends.
