Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

About the Role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you'll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner led service right to our customers' doors. You will presence the company's ethos of passionate Partners serving food lovers, and support the shop with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping while you are not on the road.

Due to the nature of the role, you must be 18 years or older to work as a Driver.

Key Responsibilities

• Check your delivery routes for the day.
• Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
• Complete vehicle safety checks, maintaining full road compliance, health and safety.
• Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand while on the road with customer service as the top priority.
• Help customers with their shopping and build a rapport based on trust and service.
• Support the wider shop team when required with general shop keeping tasks.

Essential skills/experience

• Full valid Class B UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Great customer service skills.
• Time management skills.
• Physical ability to lift crates and move cages.
• Comfortable working independently, being self motivated and adaptable.
• IT literate.

Desirable skills/experience

• Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles would be welcomed.

Pay and Benefits

Pay: £14.31 hourly. Any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 will attract a night premium of £3.75 per hour, in addition to contractual pay. This applies to existing Partners enrolled in the Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours of Work: Part time, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Earliest start time 05:00, latest finish time 22:00.
