Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to "make a difference" working with one of our leading colleges based within the Black Country.

We are currently recruiting for an interim Curriculum Manager specialising in A Levels, Science and Access to HE.

You will be a proven key figure in the educational field leading the direction of your provision throughout all aspects of curriculum delivery including retention, achievement, and destinations.

Salary: £44,861 - £47,591

Hours of work: 35 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

Apply a forensic approach to create a cohesive, multi-level curriculum offer, which provides opportunities for progression and reflects and meets the needs of stakeholders, including local and national employers.

Form and maintain good working relationships with external partners to enhance and grow your curriculum provision, ensuring input from employers to shape and support the knowledge, skills and behaviors required.

Ensure that your curriculum provision provides advice, guidance and enrollment services when required to support College recruitment and enrollment.

Where appropriate, liaise with the relevant Sector Lead for apprenticeships to support apprenticeship success.

Create timetables and work patterns for all staff that you line manage, regularly collaborating with business support teams to support your curriculum provision e.g., on staffing, timetables etc.

Continually review the student's journey from pre-enrollment to progression to deliver improvements in line with College values, and stakeholders.

Set and monitor performance targets for attendance, retention, achievement, and destinations for your curriculum provision and continually monitor and track progress, informing all stakeholders, e.g., parents, when needed.

Lead on the quality of education for your curriculum provision, whilst working with members of the Quality Team to drive a good or better experience for all students, addressing any issues of under performance or non-compliance as required, across all funding streams.

Ensure timely solutions are found to cover any teaching, this may include covering lessons.

Meeting students, as required, respecting confidentiality appropriately and holding disciplinary meetings, liaising with parents or guardians where applicable.

Where required, attend or host meetings for students with EHCPs, working with SEN and Inclusion and Safeguarding Teams and any external stakeholders to ensure students are successful.

Host regular team meeting and 1:1's with staff. Complete appraisals, setting and monitoring KPI's with clear measures that are continually reviewed.

Work with the Exams Team to ensure that all exams are planned, conducted appropriately and invigilated. Where required, ensure that students are entered accurately and timely for examinations.

Oversee that IQA and EQA requirements your curriculum provision and ensure that the awarding body criteria and expectations are met.

Complete an annual self-assessment review and present to internal and external bodies to validate judgments. Complete a Quality Improvement plan to identify areas for improvement, regularly updating and evidencing termly impact.

Use relevant systems and reports to ensure your curriculum provision meets College financial targets, monitoring staff utilisation and classroom sizes, presenting this data when necessary.

Develop and help to promote your curriculum provision to all stakeholders through ways such as open events, social media channels and external events etc.

Respond in a timely manner to any student or staff complaints, investigating and resolving where applicable.

Support all staff and students' wellbeing, complying with the relevant College policies and procedures.

Contribute, as required, and work with other College and Senior Management Team members in creating a purposeful, student focused College where clear expectations contribute to student's success and career progression.

Be part of the College Learning Evaluation Team carrying out activities such as in line with the relevant College policies and procedures.

Identify staff CPD requirements and develop and deliver CPD sessions as required to team(s) or wider College.

Be responsible for the induction of new staff in your curriculum provision, including the probation process.

Establish and manage substantial pay and non-pay budgets, ensuring resources are optimised (and reduced where possible through innovative management) and offer value for money.

Identify and develop new income-generating opportunities within the context of a commercial strategy where applicable. Produce business plans, where applicable, to develop an offer considering all information and options giving a range of solutions available.

Plan and run any applicable commercial offer in order to meet agreed KPI's.
