Crown Court Clerk

We are looking for a Crown Court Clerk to support the administration of criminal, civil and family courts across England and Wales.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for ensuring Crown Court hearings run smoothly, including:
- speaking confidently in court and liaising with the judge, defence, prosecution, media, members of the public and other stakeholders;
- managing court sittings and intervening when required to maximise judicial sitting time;
- producing accurate and time critical documentation - verdicts, arraignments, court orders and hearing outcomes;
- maintaining and improving court processes and digital systems.

- excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills;
- ability to complete documents accurately and to deadlines;
- IT proficiency and willingness to learn new technologies and software packages;
- resilience, ability to multitask and adapt to new systems;
- sensitivity to complex and emotionally difficult issues.
Standard full time hours: 37 hours per week. The role is office based with a minimum of 60 % presence in a local office. Hybrid working arrangements are offered where business needs allow.
Visa and AvailabilityThis role is not eligible for new Skilled Worker visas under current immigration rules. Applicants must have held a Skilled Worker visa before 22 July 2025, or otherwise provide evidence of the right to live and work in the UK.
