I FRS9 Credit Risk Impairment Manager (Contract)

Our client, a leading organisation in the retail banking industry, is seeking a Credit Risk Impairment Manager to join their Credit Risk Provision & Forecasting team. This role is offered on a contract basis, inside IR35, paying £500-£700 per day, and is London-based with hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end monthly IFRS 9 impairment production, ensuring accuracy, control and timely delivery.
• Review and challenge IFRS 9 model outputs, key drivers and impairment movements.
• Maintain and enhance post-model adjustments (PMAs) with full governance and documentation.
• Develop and produce impairment MI, dashboards and analytical reporting.
• Prepare materials for Impairment Forums, senior committees and audit interactions.
• Partner closely with Finance, Portfolio Management, Collections and wider Risk teams.

Skills & Experience

• Strong background in IFRS 9 impairment production & reporting.
• Deep understanding of IFRS 9 methodologies, staging, ECL components and risk drivers.
• SAS and Excel proficiency (essential).
• Ability to translate complex analysis into clear insight for senior stakeholders.
• Strong controls, governance and documentation mindset.
