Job Description

Middlemore is collaborating with a London-based Financial Services firm to appoint a Credit Risk Analyst to join their team. This role is ideal for a Spanish and/or Portuguese speaker looking to advance their career within a boutique, growing global business.

Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Head of Credit Risk, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Preparing credit risk memos, including credit and financial analysis for both new and existing clients.
  2. Performing fundamental analysis of annual and interim financial statements on corporate and commodities clients.
  3. Communicating recommendations regarding credit limits to Risk Management and Sales teams.
  4. Managing credit lines that are overdue, limits overshoot, and exposures exceeding risk appetite.
  5. Monitoring and reporting credit and derivative exposures to Senior Management regularly.
  6. Collaborating with Sales, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to proactively manage the client credit portfolio.
  7. Monitoring daily trading performance of clients, including collateral management and margin calls.
  8. Contributing to the preparation of the Credit Committee and Key Performance Indicators.
Minimum Requirements
  • Experience analyzing financial statements of corporates and commodities counterparties.
  • Strong writing skills for preparing credit memos.
  • Previous experience managing a credit portfolio.
  • At least 3 years of experience in credit risk analysis.
  • Experience working with a global sales team.
Additional Skills
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese.
  • Some understanding of ISDA and other legal documentation.
  • Knowledge of financial markets is advantageous.
  • Experience with Python, VBA, and SQL is beneficial but not essential.
  • Professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM, CAIA, or similar are advantageous.
