Pay:
£30 to £40 per hour, hourly rates will depend on role, experience and responsibilities: Training Tutor Level 4 only: £30 per hour, Assistant Tutor: £35 per hour, Core Tutor: £40 per hour. This will be offered on a part time, self employed contract basis. Marking time is negotiated and paid for.

About this jobThe successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of high quality counselling training, supporting learners to develop their counselling knowledge, skills, ethical awareness, reflective practice, personal development and professional competence.
The role may include teaching, skills observation, portfolio support, assessment feedback, group facilitation, tutorial support and attendance at standardisation or quality assurance meetings.
The tutor will work closely with the Centre Lead and wider teaching team to ensure that delivery meets CPCAB requirements and supports learners to progress confidently through the qualification.
Key responsibilities- Planning and delivering teaching sessions linked to CPCAB Level 4 criteria
- Supporting learners to understand counselling theory, ethics, professional practice, diversity, client work, supervision and reflective development
- Observing counselling skills practice and giving constructive feedback
- Supporting learners with portfolio evidence and assessment requirements
- Marking written work and providing clear developmental feedback
- Supporting group discussion, personal development and reflective learning
- Contributing to standardisation, internal quality assurance and course review processes
- Maintaining professional boundaries and modelling ethical counselling practice
- Working collaboratively with the Centre Lead, tutors, supervisors and wider team
- A recognised counselling qualification at Level 4 or above
- Current membership of a professional body, such as BACP, NCPS or UKCP
- Relevant counselling practice experience
- Teaching, training, tutoring or assessing experience
- Knowledge of CPCAB qualifications and assessment processes
- A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
- Experience of supporting adult learners
- Strong communication, organisation and feedback skills
- Experience of delivering CPCAB qualifications is desirable, but not essential
Where a candidate does not currently meet all requirements, a mentoring and development plan may be offered, which could include shadowing experienced tutors, supported delivery, regular feedback, standardisation meetings and gradual progression into the role based on experience, confidence and competence.
