East Midlands/ temporary / £160 - 200 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school in Derby that is looking to appoint a General Cover Teacher. The school provides education for students across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4 and requires a dependable teacher who can maintain a positive and focused classroom environment.

The school is looking to take on a General Cover Teacher on a short-term basis from September 2026 to support a planned staff absence. The successful General Cover Teacher will deliver pre-planned work across a range of subjects, manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain engaged with their learning.

The successful General Cover Teacher will have:

• QTS or a relevant teaching qualification
• Experience working with students across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4
• Experience delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A flexible and adaptable approach
