Cover Supervisor Location: Bradford Contract: Day-to-day, short-term and long-term assignments Start Date: Immediate / Flexible Agency: Tradewind Education Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor looking for flexible work in Bradford? Tradewind Education are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a successful secondary school partnership in Bradford. We have opportunities available for candidates seeking day-to-day supply, short-term and long-term assignments, offering flexibility to suit your availability and career goals. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning when teachers are absent. You will be responsible for supervising students, delivering pre-prepared work and ensuring a positive and productive classroom environment.

The Role

• Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students remain engaged with their work.
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and expectations.
• Providing a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Supporting students with their learning where appropriate.
• Taking attendance and reporting any concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
• Ensuring students complete the work provided by their classroom teacher.
• Providing feedback to teaching staff regarding student engagement and behaviour.
• Following school safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other school staff.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a secondary school setting.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to confidently supervise groups of secondary-aged students.
• A calm, professional and positive approach.
• The ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.
• Flexibility and reliability.
• A genuine commitment to supporting students' education and wellbeing.
• A good understanding of safeguarding within an educational environment.
• Experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, Tutor or similar role is desirable.
