Job Description
Cover Supervisor - Secondary School in Bolton

Milk Education is currently recruiting a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work within a welcoming and inclusive Secondary School in Bolton. This opportunity is available from September and is ideal for someone looking to gain valuable classroom experience while making a positive impact on young people's education.

In this rewarding role, you'll supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with their learning while maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment.

Your Role
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of curriculum subjects in the absence of the classroom teacher
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy
  • Ensure students remain focused, engaged and complete the work set
  • Provide support and guidance to students where appropriate
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment
  • Report back to teaching staff on student progress, behaviour and lesson outcomes
  • Support the wider school community as required throughout the school day
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive relationships at all times
We're Looking For Someone Who:
  • Has previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role within a secondary school
  • Has a good understanding of the secondary curriculum and is confident supervising lessons across a range of subjects using pre planned work
  • Is confident managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment in line with school policies
  • Can build positive relationships with students, staff and the wider school community
  • Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Is adaptable, proactive and able to think on their feet when covering different year groups and subject areas
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them achieve their potential
  • Has an understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures, or is willing to complete relevant training
  • Holds a degree or relevant qualification (desirable but not essential)

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
