Do you have experience delivering sessions, leading activities, coaching, mentoring or working within education, care or youth settings?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a SEMH Learning & Behaviour Cover Supervisor to join a specialist educational setting in the Corby area. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who can combine strong behaviour management skills with the ability to engage and motivate young people who may face barriers to learning.

The Role

Working within a specialist SEMH setting, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the teacher, delivering pre-planned learning activities and ensuring students remain engaged throughout the day.

This role requires someone who can build positive relationships, establish clear boundaries and adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of students.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering pre-planned lessons and learning activities
• Leading small group interventions and classroom sessions
• Supporting students with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges
• Encouraging engagement, participation and positive learning behaviours
• Building strong and trusting relationships with students
• Managing behaviour using a calm, consistent and supportive approach
• Supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing
• Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and support professionals
• Creating a safe, structured and positive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in both delivering sessions and supporting young people with SEMH, behavioural or additional needs.

• Teaching Assistant
• Residential Support Worker
• Intervention Lead
• Learning Mentor
• Support Worker
• Alternative Provision Practitioner

To be successful, you will:

• Be confident leading groups and delivering activities or learning sessions
• Have experience supporting young people with SEMH, behavioural or emotional needs
• Be calm, resilient and able to manage challenging situations positively
• Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Be passionate about helping young people succeed
• Be able to engage students who may have become disengaged from education
