We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individuals to join our English and Mathematics (ENMA) Department, primarily based at our York Centre. The role offers a unique opportunity to support the GCSE Mathematics (resit) or GCSE English (resit) depending on your specialism. The focus will be on teaching GCSE resits, with potential for some entry-level (pre-GCSE) learning. This role will suit someone who has a passion for mathematics/English and is enthusiastic about building skills. We would consider anyone with teaching experience from all levels of the education sector who thrives on developing students' confidence and skills using mastery and scaffolding techniques to engage and enable students to thrive. You may previously have worked in FE, be an English or maths specialist in a high school setting or have both English and maths delivery skills in a Primary setting.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or above in a relevant subject
  • Teaching qualification (Level 5 teaching qualifications accepted)
  • Strong knowledge of GCSE Maths or English curriculum. Additionally desirable is knowledge of the entry-level Functional skills qualification.
  • Teaching experiencing in maths and/or English
  • Passion for fostering student success and engagement

Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all elements of the Study Programme and condition of funding requirements
  • Implement the College quality management system
  • Plan, prepare, and teach agreed contact hours to a high standard
  • Support the development of resources and improvements within the department
  • Contribute to cross-college events and marketing activities

Start Date: The College operates 2 starter/induction days per month to welcome and onboard new members. These are usually the first Monday and third Wednesday of each month (unless there is a bank holiday).
