Job Description

About the Role & Team

This fixed term secondment (through April 2027) provides legal advice and support to Disney Consumer Products (DCP) EMEA across merchandise licensing, book and magazine publishing, retail, and e commerce. The role covers all DCP franchises (Disney, Lucas, Marvel, Fox, Nat Geo) within EMEA.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, including licenses and distribution (digital) agreements.
  • Providing general commercial and competition law advice under the supervision of the line manager.
  • Supporting the CMC (contract management centre) for drafting and negotiating merchandise and publishing license agreements.
  • Advising on new business models, retail matters, global supply chain issues, direct sourcing, intellectual property, consumer law, and corporate matters such as tax legislation and governance.
  • Reviewing style guides, license e packaging and marketing materials.
  • Supporting DCP Communications, ILS, and PI on promotions and retail activations within scope.
Experience & Skills Required
  • Proven experience negotiating and drafting contracts for a law firm or corporate legal department, preferably with intellectual property licensing exposure.
  • English law qualification or equivalent.
  • Expertise in contract, IP, consumer and commercial law (including EU legislation).
  • Knowledge of competition law.
  • Understanding of digital distribution issues related to apps, e commerce and e publishing.
  • Strong organizational, prioritisation and deadline management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and meticulous completion of agreements.
  • Effective communication of legal matters to non legal audiences.
