The Role:

As a Councillor and Governance Support Officer, you will contribute to Westminster's success by managing elected officials' diaries, supporting governance processes, administering the ward budget programme, and handling casework. Your work will enable decision-makers to perform effectively, supporting the Fairer Westminster strategy and assisting Cabinet Members in their decision-making that impacts communities.

Your responsibilities may include arranging complex meetings, commissioning briefing notes for strategic priorities, supporting ward budget applications, and resolving issues through partnership with service areas. This role offers a great opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills, enthusiasm for local government, and interest in learning about council operations.

About You:

You should be proactive, methodical, and enjoy working with diverse stakeholders. Excellent organizational skills, the ability to handle complex information, and experience with financial administration are essential. You should be collaborative, personable, and confident in communication, especially in a politically driven environment. Ability to work independently and seek guidance when needed is important. An interest in local government issues and a willingness to contribute are also key.
