Cost Engineer

Summer-Browning Associates is currently supporting our automotive industry client, who is seeking a Cost Engineer for an initial twelve-month assignment.

Location: Hybrid working - Crewe

About the role: You will be responsible for evaluating product, development and investment costs for current and future product development plans at a system/part level. Additionally, to work proactively towards achievement of cost target objectives with project teams, across product platforms in conjunction with the Purchasing and Engineering functions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in delivery Cost Engineering support, with the following skills and experience:

• Experience of product cost management.
• Knowledge of automotive cost estimating and engineering practices.
• Experience in technical negotiations.
• Experience in developing suppliers to determine good value for money products.
• Experience with Siemens TcPCM Product Costing or similar software solutions (Desirable)
