The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, and exciting plans for further expansion in Ireland, RSM Ireland are recruiting a Manager/Senior Manager in our Corporate Tax team. The successful candidate will work on a varied portfolio of clients and groups, some with complex tax affairs, ensuring both excellent client service and identification of further work opportunities. The role will include undertaking the more complex compliance work, supporting junior team members and reviewing work undertaken by them and working on a variety of advisory projects. In addition, they will have the opportunity to assist the partners and directors by involvement in business development opportunities, proposals and networking events.

The role offers career progression in a fast growing corporate tax team and represents an excellent opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic tax professional seeking to develop their career in a progressive firm. The role will entail working with a diverse client portfolio, with a key focus being the provision of tax services to international companies helping them to deal with a wide range of Irish and International tax matters. We work with clients operating in a wide variety of sectors including technology, internet and media, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, retail and consumer, and manufacturing. The successful candidate should have a proven track record in managing client relationships, delivering solutions to clients and building teams.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting buy side and sell side M&A transactions from a tax perspective, including structuring, due diligence, and execution support.
  • Preparing and reviewing tax due diligence reports (corporate tax, withholding taxes, VAT/indirect taxes in coordination with specialists), identifying key exposures and value drivers.
  • Advising on transaction structuring (share vs asset deals), financing, repatriation, and post acquisition integration considerations (including purchase price mechanisms and tax attributes).
  • Providing tax input on transaction documentation by reviewing tax clauses (e.g., SPA tax covenant, tax indemnities, W&I considerations) and advising deal teams on key tax implications; supporting completion and post completion matters.
  • Managing multiple workstreams and timelines across deal teams (legal, corporate finance, and international advisers), ensuring clear communication of tax findings and recommendations.
  • Contributing to proposals, pitches, and thought leadership for transaction tax opportunities, and supporting/mentoring junior team members on deal delivery.
  • Contributing to the operational management of the corporate tax department, including certain business development initiatives.
  • Providing mentorship to junior staff, and work on attracting, developing, and retaining the best talents for the firm.
About the ideal candidate
  • ITI and ACA / ACCA qualified.
  • At least 2 to 3 years' experience in a management role in transaction tax / M&A tax, with a track record delivering tax input on live deals.
  • Experience preparing/reviewing tax due diligence reports, identifying key risks, and communicating clear, commercial recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Strong technical grounding in Irish corporate tax with the ability to apply it in deal contexts (structuring, financing, tax attributes, exit planning, and integration).
  • Experience providing tax input on transaction documentation (e.g., reviewing SPA tax clauses, supporting disclosure processes, and advising on tax deed/covenant implications) and managing completion/post completion queries.
  • Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple deals at once and work effectively with legal, corporate finance, and cross border teams.
  • Team player with experience in managing staff.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with confidence presenting complex tax issues clearly to non tax stakeholders.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint and Word); experience with data room tools and report writing is an advantage.
