Corporate Tax Manager

An established and highly respected independent accountancy and advisory firm is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager or Senior for their Chelmsford office. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional looking to move beyond compliance and develop their expertise across a broad range of advisory projects.

With increasing demand for strategic tax advice and business succession planning, this is an exciting time to join a team that works closely with entrepreneurial clients, supporting them through some of the most important decisions in their business journey.

The Opportunity

Working alongside experienced tax specialists, you will gain exposure to a variety of advisory assignments while maintaining a proportion of compliance work to strengthen your technical expertise.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Tax planning and structuring for owner-managed and growing businesses
• R&D tax relief claims and capital allowances
• HMRC enquiries and tax risk management
• Corporate reorganisations and transaction-related tax matters
• Shareholder and profit extraction planning
• Corporate tax compliance and portfolio management

This role offers genuine scope for progression and the opportunity to develop into a trusted adviser for clients across a range of sectors.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• ACA, ATT and CTA qualified status, or be close to completing your CTA
• Experience gained within a professional services or accountancy practice environment
• Strong knowledge of corporation tax, capital allowances and business tax reliefs
• An interest in broadening your experience into advisory-focused work
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters clearly
• A proactive and commercially minded approach to problem-solving
• The ability to build strong relationships with both clients and colleagues
