Corporate Partner - Legal 500 Practice - West Midlands

Overview

A legal 500 listed law firm with offices based across the West Midlands are seeking an existing Partner, Legal Director or Senior Associate (Ideally 10 Year PQE+) to join their highly regarded Corporate department.

There is an excellent and broad range of quality corporate work across a wide range of sectors to include corporate transactions, commercial contracts, management buy ins/outs, joint venture agreements, restructuring and partnerships. The client base is second to none and is primarily 'city focused' rather than being local businesses.

This role is part of a progression plan, so you would be working alongside an existing Director before then taking more responsibility and leading the Corporate team. You will become an integral part of the firm right away and will enjoy a lot of direct client contact with key clients of the firm as well as contribute to building the department further by getting actively involved in the business development activities of the firm and the department.

Whilst work is of a high quality, there is still a traditional feel to this practice and you will have the luxury of your secretarial support, a supportive management board that will guide you whenever necessary and fantastic work/life balance. A following is not essential due to the volumes of work and success they have seen recently.

The firm are very work/life balance focused and can offer a hybrid working split, however, there would need to be a presence in order to liaise with the Director and discuss plans for progressing & growing the team. All fee earners currently have the choice to work remotely, hybrid or from the office and this will continue to be in place.

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside an existing Director and progress to leading the Corporate team.
• Take increased responsibility in managing corporate transactions, commercial contracts, management buy-ins/outs, joint venture agreements, restructuring, and partnership work.
• Maintain direct client contact and contribute actively to business development activities.
• Provide oversight for a well-established team within a respected firm.

Qualifications

• Existing Partner, Legal Director or Senior Associate, ideally with 10+ years Post-Qualified Experience (PQE).
• Strong background in corporate work across a broad range of sectors.
• Experience working with a city-focused client base and high-quality corporate transactions.
