Job Description

Do you want to work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary firm where you can gain experience across various legal and financial sectors? If so, Aster & Trujillo is seeking a talented and motivated Paralegal to join our growing team.

At Aster & Trujillo, we operate as an international consultancy practice, providing comprehensive, end-to-end solutions to our clients. Unlike traditional law firms, we do not limit our services to legal matters alone-we work across multiple disciplines, collaborating with solicitors, tax advisors, accountants, and corporate professionals to provide a seamless, A-to-Z service for businesses. Our firm assists clients with a wide range of needs, including corporate governance, corporate secretarial services, employment contracts, business plans, and company formations. We take pride in our multifaceted approach, ensuring that our clients receive holistic support tailored to their unique business and legal challenges.

In addition to our legal and corporate advisory services, we have a dedicated internal department for accounts and tax. This department manages payroll, VAT, and financial reporting obligations to HMRC, ensuring full compliance with UK regulations. All our accountants are fully qualified professionals, and as part of your role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with them, gaining valuable insight into financial and tax-related matters relevant to our international client base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with legal research and drafting legal documents
  • Liaising with clients, regulatory bodies, and legal professionals
  • Supporting solicitors with property transactions, contracts, and litigation
  • Managing compliance and due diligence processes, including KYCs for businesses and individuals
  • Handling immigration and employment law matters for international clients (high volume at our office)
  • Engaging with HMRC and Companies House for corporate compliance and tax-related issues
  • Providing business advisory support, particularly for European clients setting up businesses in the UK
  • Assisting our Accountants in delivering Payroll, VAT, and financial statements, and liaising with external Auditors in Europe.
  • Managing your portfolio of clients and delegating tasks to solicitors, accountants, and tax advisors as needed (supervised work)

What We Are Looking For:

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of legal expertise and strong organisational abilities. Specifically, we are looking for someone who meets the following criteria:

Previous experience in a law firm or legal environment - A background in legal practice, whether in the UK or abroad, will be highly beneficial.

Strong understanding of UK legal procedures - Familiarity with legal processes, compliance regulations, and best practices in the UK legal system is required.

Excellent organizational and research skills - The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to handle multiple cases at once, and proficiency in legal research.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently - You should be self-motivated, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and client management skills - You will be working closely with clients, solicitors, and other professionals, so interpersonal skills and client service orientation are crucial.

Collaborative approach - The successful candidate will work closely with solicitors, tax advisors, and accountants, providing legal and financial support on a range of matters, including corporate law, tax compliance, and business advisory services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A qualified lawyer from a foreign jurisdiction looking to transition into UK practice
  • Experience with corporate or immigration law
  • Knowledge of tax and business advisory services
  • Understanding of legal compliance and risk management

What We Offer:

  • Career progression opportunities in a multi-disciplinary firm
  • Exposure to a broad range of legal and tax practice areas
  • A collaborative and supportive work environment
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Professional development and training opportunities
  • The chance to work with international clients across different industries
  • Fully funded education with BPP training provider
