My Client

My client is a global professional services organisation with a presence in more than 30 countries and a team of over 5,000 people. They are a full service provider with deep sector expertise and a strong international footprint. Whatever the challenge, wherever in the world, the team is equipped and ready to meet it.

Purpose led and values driven, they see today's fast moving world as a place where everyone can thrive. They are ambitious for their clients, their communities - and for you. Whether you're early in your career or well established, and whether you're a lawyer or part of business services, if you're looking for what's next, so are they.

You'll develop a global mindset, be encouraged to put ideas into action, and get involved in challenges that are continually evolving. This is a place where you can thrive, succeed and shape what comes next.

The Team

The Corporate team advises public and private organisations of all sizes on mergers and acquisitions, disposals, corporate finance, private equity investments and cross border transactions. They regularly act on hundreds of M&A deals each year and are recognised as a leading practice both in Europe and globally.

Within this group sits a specialist, market leading practice dedicated to the Education sector. The team is widely acknowledged as a sector leader, with an enviable track record of acting on some of the most significant deals in higher education, as well as a strong practice supporting clients in the schools and further education sectors.

This role is ideal for an ambitious Corporate Lawyer with experience and interest in the Education sector. It offers the opportunity to leverage a market leading practice to support the growth of the team nationally and internationally, utilising the organisation's global network to support both domestic clients with overseas transactions and international clients entering the UK market. The work is varied and will suit those with a strong interest in understanding different transaction and regulatory structures to deliver first class client advice.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work primarily on domestic and international M&A, joint ventures and collaborations in the Education sector.
  • Have (or develop) a strong focus on higher education, with experience or interest in the schools and further education sectors also beneficial.
  • Contribute actively to business development, both internally and externally.
  • Build strong working relationships across the organisation's national and international offices.
Skills & Experience Sought

My client is looking for candidates who:

  • Have 2-8 years' PQE with a strong focus on Corporate work; experience in the Education sector (M&A, JVs, collaborations) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for the Education sector, especially higher education.
  • Can manage multiple transactions and competing deadlines.
  • Deliver exceptional client service with strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Build effective relationships with clients and colleagues; experience supporting junior colleagues is advantageous.
  • (For Senior Associate/Principal Associate) Have experience coaching, supervising or mentoring junior lawyers.
What's in It for You?

My client offers a comprehensive benefits package focused on:

  • Fairness, transparency and shared success.
  • Rewarding performance and alignment to values.
  • Flexible, agile and hybrid working arrangements.
  • Health, wellbeing, dental and healthcare support.
  • A strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Professional growth through structured career development, mentoring and training.
  • International exposure and cross functional opportunities.
  • Opportunities to give back through pro bono and community work.
  • Support for planning ahead, including retirement and assurance benefits.
Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging

'Inclusive' is embedded as a core value. My client brings together diverse skillsets and global perspectives, fostering an environment where ideas can flourish and individuals are respected. They invest in building a diverse and inclusive culture, reflected in policies, systems and ongoing engagement with diversity organisations.

Flexible working is supported across the organisation, and discussions about personal working arrangements are welcomed throughout the recruitment process.

If you require any adjustments during the recruitment process, the team will work with you to ensure you can perform at your best.
