Coroner's Officer

Grade: F scp 17 (salary £31,022) - scp 23 (salary £34,434). Full time (37 hrs) or part time (14 hrs 48 mins). Permanent contract. No sponsorship offered.

Responsibilities

• Investigate deaths on behalf of the Coroner.
• Case manage referrals from initial report through to inquest.
• Liaise closely with bereaved families, police, medical experts and legal professionals.
• Ensure timely, thorough and compassionate service in a fast moving, sensitive environment.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage workplace workload in an organised, methodical manner.
• Effective communicator, diligent and responsible, flexible, enthusiastic and resilient.
• Excellent IT skills and sound understanding of data protection and data sharing legislation.
• Medical and legal knowledge and understanding is advantageous.

Contract and Hours

Full time: 37 hours per week. Part time: 14 hours 48 minutes across Monday and Tuesday.
