Role: Core Platform Technical Manager

Location: 1-2 Days a Month in Sussex

Salary: £80,000 - £90,000

We are seeking a Core Platform Technical Manager to lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of enterprise platforms across Azure cloud, data platforms, and business automation. You will oversee end-to-end cloud management, working with Azure providers and internal engineering teams, and drive RPA integration. You will define and apply platform architecture best practices with the Cloud & Shared Platforms Architect, ensuring alignment with strategy. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with business, engineering, and security to support digital transformation, managing Technical Engineers and DPE, overseeing the cloud estate, and ensuring effective workload delivery through value streams and the Change Delivery Framework.

Ideal Candidate:

We're looking for someone with strong Server Side experience in software design and implementation, including being able to use coding languages to solve complex problems with respect to security, resilience and scale. You'll also need to be capable of complex requirements analysis capture and validation against and with business and platform requirements.

Additionally, you'll demonstrate experience of

• Lead design and engineering of scalable, secure Azure cloud, data, and automation platforms.

• Oversee Azure estate and cloud service delivery with third-party providers and internal teams.

• Drive automation and RPA strategy using Azure Automation, Power Automate, and IaC tools.

• Manage Technical Engineers, Data Platform Engineers, and vendor contracts for platform delivery.

• Define and apply best practices for architecture, aligned with business and platform strategy.

• Ensure cloud platforms meet security, compliance, and governance standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions supporting digital transformation.

• Present strategic roadmaps and solution designs to senior leadership.

• Lead platform modernisation, migration, and transformation initiatives within budget.

• Provide technical leadership, incident management, and 24/7 on-call support as required

Requirements desirable:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
• Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate (desirable)
• TOGAF 9 Certification (desirable)
• ITIL Foundation Certification (desirable)
