COO Risk Lead - 6 month FTC

Are you an experienced risk professional with exposure to change and transformation programmes, technology and customer operations in the insurance industry? We're recruiting for a Chief Operation Officer (COO) Risk Lead to business partner with our COO function in AXA Commercial on a 6 month fixed term contract.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you'll be doing:

• Work as a Risk Business Partner and primary point of contact for the AXA Commercial COO.
• You'll be the Risk Lead on a number of our key strategic projects in AXA Commercial, including claims transformation, contact centre improvements, data development initiatives.
• Supporting the Commercial COO with key risk management and governance processes, including chairing local risk forums, providing advice on key risk matters, preparing risk reporting, designing path to greens for out of appetite risks.
• Support incident management and reporting/ escalating issues in line with the risk management framework and supporting control owners with RCSA activity.
• Lead a programme of work to help Commercial COO to embed a number of improvements being made to AXA's risk management framework, including embedding our new risk library, refreshing the control landscape and associated mapping.
• You'll improve utilisation of our risk reporting tool and driving risk management maturity within the Commercial COO function.

What you'll bring:

• Experience in working in claims transformation, contact centre improvements and data development initiatives across risk disciplines.
• Deep understanding of operational risk and a good level of knowledge of conduct risk as you'll be the initial point of contact and bring in our conduct experts, where needed.
• Credibility and trusted risk SME with experience of applying their knowledge in a balanced way in the insurance industry.
• Proactive mindset, you'll know how to strike a good balance between enabling risk and control owners to manage risk activity in a self-sufficient way and knowing when to step in to get the right outcome.
• Insurance industry experience is essential.
