Control Systems Engineer

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

An innovative and sustainability-focused engineering business is looking for a Control & Automation Engineer to join their growing team.

You'll be responsible for the design, implementation, and commissioning of control and instrumentation systems that support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Designing and maintaining control philosophies, functional specifications, and loop documentation
• Selecting and commissioning instrumentation, sensors, and variable speed drives (VSDs)
• Integrating PLC and SCADA systems, including control networks and telemetry
• Leading and supporting site commissioning, with ongoing remote monitoring and system support
• Working closely with engineering teams, OEMs, and external partners

Skills and Experience

• Hands on experience with Siemens PLC/SCADA integration and PID tuning
• Knowledge of instrumentation and VSD commissioning
• Proven experience working within wastewater, oil & gas, or similar process industries
• Experience using Modbus and communication protocols
• The ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings and documentation using AutoCAD
