We are recruiting for a Contracts Officer to join the Corporate Property Team within the Housing and Community Safety Directorate.
As a Contracts Officer you will be required to manage projects and planned programmes up to a value of circa £2m. This involves:
- Acting as Contract Administrator ensuring contracts are delivered in line with specific terms and conditions.
- Working with our Clerk of Works to ensure all works are delivered to high quality standards.
- Developing specifications and tender documents to procure contracts.
Managing allocated budgets to ensurecontract values are not exceeded.
We are looking for people who are experienced in their field; have a good understanding of building construction and relevant legislation and are comfortable working on their own initiative. In return we can offer flexible working hours, including the ability to work from home. All of our projects are within a 30 mile radius greatly reducing the need to travel.
Main/essential skills and Experience needed.
The role centres on being able to manage Contracts. It would also be necessary for you to be able to do the following:
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, and clients to resolve contractual queries and issues.
- Monitor project progress, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Prepare, issue, and manage contract documentation, notices, and instructions in accordance with JCT or other Contract publications, requirements.
- Carry out appropriate liaison with tenants, residents, stakeholders and members of the public dealing with any potential difficulties that may arise in conjunction with the Contractor undertaking the works.
