Job Title: Contract Manager

Location: Castleford, West Yorkshire

Salary: £70,000 per annum + £6,000 Car Allowance

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to oversee the successful delivery of infrastructure and civil engineering projects across Yorkshire and the North East. You will be responsible for managing multiple contracts, supporting project teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The successful candidate will have experience within drainage, civil engineering, highways, or infrastructure and will be confident leading teams, managing client relationships, and driving operational performance across a range of projects.

Key Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a Contract Manager or senior project management role
  • Experience within civil engineering, drainage, highways, or infrastructure
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation and industry best practice
  • Experience managing multiple projects, programmes, and budgets
  • Commercial awareness and stakeholder management experience
  • Competent using Microsoft Office and project management software
  • Full UK driving licence
  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (desirable)
  • SMSTS certification (essential)
  • CSCS Manager Card (desirable)Experience working on National Highways or local authority projects (desirable)
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the successful delivery of multiple contracts from planning through to completion
  • Lead and support Project Managers and site teams to achieve project objectives
  • Monitor programme performance, budgets, quality, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Review project documentation, including RAMS and construction plans
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Support tender reviews, site inspections, and project planning activities
  • Identify and manage project ris
