Salary: £75,000 + Car Allowance & Healthcare + Mileage
Location: Hybrid-Home working-Visiting sites across the South West/South East/London and Midlands region
Projects: £1M-£8M retail refurbishment & fit out schemes
Role OverviewA senior-level Contracts Manager is required to lead multiple retail construction schemes across the South East, South West, and Midlands. The role focuses on delivering medium-to-large supermarket and retail refurbishment projects, typically ranging from £1M to £8M in value. Work is spread across locations such as London, Swindon, Doncaster, and the wider M4 corridor.
This position suits someone with strong experience delivering fast paced retail environments, ideally with exposure to major supermarket accounts. You'll oversee both pre construction and on site delivery, working closely with commercial, planning, and design teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end to end delivery of retail refurbishment and fit out projects (£1M-£8M).
- Manage 2-3 site teams, typically including 2x Project Managers and 3x Site Managers.
- Attend scope meetings and pre start design meetings with clients and internal teams.
- Work closely with QS and planners to develop robust project programmes.
- Oversee pre construction activities, including design coordination and risk reviews.
- Ensure compliance with client standards, site procedures, and programme milestones.
- Provide weekly progress reporting to senior leadership.
- Manage subcontractors, supply chain partners, and small specialist shopfitting contractors.
- Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Travel regularly across the South / Midlands, with occasional stay away requirements.
- Proven track record delivering supermarket or large format retail projects.
- Strong understanding of retail fit out, refurbishment, phasing, and live environment constraints.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent schemes.
- Confident leading pre construction activities and design coordination.
- Ability to manage site teams and subcontractors effectively.
- Strong communication and client facing skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.
