Job Description
Contracts Manager - Newark

Salary: £40,000-£50,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: 39 hours, early finish on a Friday

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead this team of engineers and coordinators. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will manage all aspects of the Contracts Department, coordinating resources and communicating effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

As a key member of the management team, you will collaborate across the business, take initiative, and continually improve processes and operational activity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the Contracts team, including recruitment, performance management, coaching, and development
  • Maintain exceptional customer relationships, ensuring professionalism and service excellence
  • Oversee the processing and management of contracts, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and standards are met
  • Chair weekly production meetings and liaise across departments to meet customer requirements
  • Monitor installation progress and site attendance, resolving issues proactively
  • Manage logistical planning, including holidays, sickness cover, and workload allocation
  • Support Contract Coordinators with material sourcing, hire equipment, and unexpected events on site
  • Maintain and update key spreadsheets and production schedules
  • Ensure accurate invoicing and timesheet/expense processing
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance
  • Travel to sites as required and liaise with clients and engineers daily
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and health & safety standards
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in installations and project management
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer engagement skills
  • Clear communicator able to partner with all levels of the business
  • Proactive leadership style with ability to motivate teams effectively
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities under pressure
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Oracle, SAP)
  • Health & Safety certification (NEBOSH or IOSH) advantageous
  • SMSTS / CSCS certifications desirable
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards
  • UK driving license and willingness to travel
