Rate: £45-£50 per hour - Outside IR35
Contract: Initial 6 months (strong likelihood of extension)
Location: Southampton (Hybrid / Office-based as required)

An award-winning civil engineering design consultancy is seeking an experienced Contract Civil Design Engineer to support a strong pipeline of residential and mixed use infrastructure projects.

This is a hands on role suited to an engineer who can take schemes from feasibility through to detailed design and technical approvals, working within a high quality consultancy environment known for design excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver civil infrastructure and drainage design for residential & mixed use developments
• Design foul and surface water systems using MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage
• Produce highways, levels, earthworks and estate road designs using Civil 3D
• Prepare drawings, calculations and reports for S104, S38 and S278 approvals
• Liaise with local authorities, statutory undertakers and internal project teams
• Manage workload independently across live schemes

About You

• Strong UK consultancy background in civil engineering design
• Proven experience delivering residential infrastructure & drainage projects
• Confident Civil 3D user with drainage software experience
• Solid understanding of UK design standards and adoption processes
• Comfortable operating autonomously in a contract role
