Contract Manager (Compliance) - Gas
Location: Evesham
Contract Start Date: 1st July 2026
Contract: Full time, permanent
Salary: £48,526 per annum plus £3,500 car allowance

Mears Group is delivering a long term social housing repairs and maintenance partnership across the wider Midlands region. We provide housing repairs and maintenance services to a geographically diverse portfolio, covering market towns, rural communities and urban locations. The contract includes responsive repairs, planned maintenance and property services, with a strong focus on customer service, quality and community investment.

About the Role

As Contract Manager (Compliance), you will be responsible for the day to day management of gas compliance operations, ensuring contractual, commercial and safety objectives are consistently achieved.

Responsibilities
  • Manage operational, commercial and contractual performance in line with client contracts, company protocols, budgets and cash flow, with a strong emphasis on gas compliance.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, Mears standard operating procedures, quality assurance accreditations and relevant codes of practice.
  • Demonstrate and monitor best practice across all gas related activities, ensuring safety, quality and cost control standards are met.
  • Manage direct labour and supply chain resources to maximise productivity, identify efficiencies and deliver value for money, working closely with the Group Procurement Team.
  • Oversee client programmed servicing programmes, ensuring all statutory checks are completed within agreed timescales and appropriate evidence is collected.
  • Promote a positive, customer focused culture aligned to the Mears Red Thread, ensuring high standards of professionalism, communication, site appearance and vehicle condition.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of company and client reporting, achieving contractual KPIs and high levels of client and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage, coach and develop employees, following HR policies and procedures and ensuring company assets are protected and maintained.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, service users and local communities, attending meetings as required and supporting business development and bid activity.
Key Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 in Domestic Plumbing or equivalent.
  • Domestic Gas qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1 and HTR1.
  • Proven experience managing gas repairs, servicing, installations and compliance programmes.
  • Strong track record of commercial and performance management across multiple sites or contracts.
  • Experience of contract or project management within a customer focused environment.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation, including COSHH and sector specific regulations.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to lead, motivate and mentor teams.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, communication and problem solving skills.
  • Confident IT skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Full, current UK driving licence.
  • Entitlement to work in the United Kingdom (no visa sponsorship provided).
Employment Eligibility
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence for at least 3 months, be over 21 and have fewer than 9 points.
