Job Opportunity: Continuous Improvement Engineer (6-Month Contract)
Location: Black Country
Contract Type: 6-Month Fixed Term
Salary/Rate: Competitive, depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP
Are you passionate about driving real change on the shop floor? My client, a well-established manufacturing business based in the Black Country, is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to make an immediate impact within a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

The Role: You'll play a key role in identifying inefficiencies, leading improvement projects, and supporting a culture of lean thinking and continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse manufacturing processes to identify waste and inefficiencies
  • Lead CI projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to implement sustainable improvements
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Support training and coaching of staff in CI tools and practices
  • Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions where needed
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience in a Continuous Improvement or Process Engineering role within manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean principles; Six Sigma Green Belt (or above) is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Ability to work independently and influence teams at all levels
  • Comfortable working on the shop floor as well as in meetings and reports
