Contentious Construction Associate (3-5 PQE)

Themis Recruit are seeking a motivated, skilled Contentious Construction Associate to join our clients growing team. You will work on high-profile projects and disputes in the domestic and international construction, engineering, and development sectors. This includes advising clients such as developers, contractors, investment funds, and cultural institutions. You will gain experience in adjudications, High Court litigation, arbitration, and strategic advisory work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support partners in managing contentious construction matters for clients.
  • Prepare and conduct adjudications.
  • Assist with High Court litigation and domestic/international arbitrations.
  • Provide strategic advice on contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC), payment disputes, delays, defects, insolvency, and more.
  • Manage client relationships and oversee junior team members.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and marketing.
  • Participate in training and departmental activities.
Requirements
  • Qualified solicitor (3-5 years PQE) with a strong background in contentious construction law.
  • Experience in managing complex cases with attention to detail.
  • Strong client care, business development, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Enthusiastic and results-driven with excellent organizational skills.
