Main duties of the jobWe are looking for a skilled, committed and enthusiastic colleague to join our gynae oncology centre in a replacement post to retiree in April 2026. The role will involve:
- Performing specialised gynecological oncology surgery, including cytoreductive procedures and HIPEC for interval ovarian surgery.
- Working within a modern integrated operating theatre, supporting the expansion of operating capacity.
- Participating in a robotic programme and providing expertise in robotic surgery for gynaecological malignancies.
- Collaboration with an accredited multidisciplinary team, providing high quality patient care.
- Engaging in teaching, research and quality improvement activities.

Job responsibilitiesIn addition to the duties described above the successful candidate will:
- Provide clinical leadership and mentorship within the gynaecological oncology team.
- Maintain good practice standards in accordance with RCOG guidelines.
- Contribute to research, clinical trials and publication activity.
- Ensure equality, diversity and inclusion in patient care and practice.
- Prepare accurate clinical documentation and reports.
The successful candidate will be employed under the terms and conditions of service for Consultants (England) 2003.

Person Specification Qualifications, Training & Experience- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- GMC registration with licence to practise.
- Completion of training in obstetrics and gynaecology with a gynaecological oncology sub specialty (RCOG or equivalent).
- Additional qualifications such as MD/PhD (desirable).
- Portfolio of publications.
- BSCCP accreditation in colposcopy.
- Accredited GMC educational supervisor.
- Strong research background and participation in clinical trials.
- Surgical competence in a busy gynaecological oncology centre, as expected from RCOG sub specialty training.
- Effective teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion in patient care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Strong organisational skills with prioritisation and deadline management.
- Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
- Experience with robotic surgery in gynaecological malignancies.
Subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, a Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required to check for any prior convictions.
