Consultant Radiologist

Location: Lorn & Islands Hospital, Oban, NHS Highland
Salary: £111,430 - £148,064 per annum pro rata (based on 10 Programmed Activities)
Employment type: Whole time (10 Programmed Activities) or part time; no out of hours commitment; 8 DCC and 2 SPA per week.
Role overview: You will provide general radiology services in a small but busy rural general hospital. You will work independently, referring and discussing cases with senior clinicians such as Consultant Physicians, Surgeons, Anaesthetists and Rural Emergency Practitioners. Sub specialty interests may be accommodated, and basic biopsy and drainage procedures are desirable.
Key responsibilities:
- Interpret and report imaging studies, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, and other modalities.
- Perform basic biopsy and drainage procedures as needed.
- Consult with clinical teams on diagnostic imaging and patient management.
- Contribute to departmental teaching and continuous professional development.
Qualifications and experience:
- Qualified Consultant Diagnostic Radiologist with experience in general radiology.
- Experience working in a rural or community hospital setting preferred.
- Comfortable working independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
