Main duties of the job

The East Suffolk CAMHS service is seeking two enthusiastic and committed Consultant Psychiatrists to join a fully staffed and supportive multidisciplinary team. You will be based at the Walker Close, Ipswich. There is an opportunity for 1.5WTE vacancy post in SCAMHS.

You will be working as part of a fully staffed multidisciplinary team, alongside two full time Consultants and one Associate Specialist, contributing to the ongoing development of CAMHS and supporting expansion of newly developing under 18 crisis team.

You will be providing assessment and formulation for new referrals and maintaining a caseload of young people aged 0-18 with complex mental health presentations, including oversight of medication and treatment plans.

Delivering clinical care across a range of Trust settings, which may include other Trust sites, primary care locations, local acute hospitals, Children's Centres, and home visits where appropriate.

Working in accordance with NICE and QNCC standards, supporting ongoing service development and contributing to quality improvements across Suffolk CAMHS. The service follows the i THRIVE Framework, a needs led, person centred approach that promotes shared decision making and improves access to the right support at the right time.

  • Section 12(2) approval under the Mental Health Act
  • Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCST
Experience
  • 3 years or equivelent medical experience
  • 6 months experience in relevant clinical area
  • Evidence of knowledge of diagnosis, treatment + management of complex mental illness
