Consultant Psychiatrist in CAMHS - Hartlepool

This is an exciting opportunity for a child and adolescent consultant psychiatrist to become involved in transformation and leadership within a forward looking CAMHS service at Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. The role offers the chance to shape the service and support professional growth.
Durham Tees Valley Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services work with children and young people up to 18 across a range of teams, including neurodevelopmental assessments and specialist services. The service is supported by a 24/7 crisis team and home treatment options.
The Getting More Help team is based at Dover House, Hartlepool, with good transport links and free car parking for staff.
Main dutiesThe post holder will offer mental health assessment, psychiatric opinion, diagnosis and holistic care plans for patients to 18. The Trust expects about two new patient assessments per week, with face to face contacts totaling approximately 650 per year. Clinical work will be conducted mainly at Dover House, with the possibility of community settings such as schools.
The post holder must be Section 12 approved, preferably with Approved Clinician status. The Trust will support securing these approvals if not already in place.
Clinical supervision of at least eight hours per year is required, delivered either face to face or remotely via secure MS Teams.

- Delivers undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.

- Uses clinical evidence and has actively participated in clinical audit.
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
- MRCPsych or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Approved Clinician Status and Section 12 Status, or able to achieve within three months.
- Excellent knowledge in specialty and clinical skills using a bio psycho social perspective.
- Wide medical knowledge, excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Manages clinical complexity and uncertainty and meets duties under MHA and MCA.
- Describe your clinical experience relevant to this role.
- Any other experience that may be applicable.
