Consultant Psychiatrist - Outpatient CAMHS General Psychiatry

The Priory Wellbeing Centre Birmingham is an outpatient clinic located in the heart of Birmingham, providing individual therapy to adults, children, and adolescents.

The clinic maintains close links with the Priory Hospital Woodbourne, enabling continuity of care if inpatient treatment becomes necessary. The consultant psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and psychotherapists working at the clinic are highly experienced in their respective fields.

Due to increased demand for mental health support both within and outside the city, we are expanding our team of Consultant Psychiatrists.

We are currently seeking Consultants in General Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to join our team.

This position offers a blended approach of face-to-face and remote appointments.

The successful applicant will need to register with various private medical insurance companies to serve our corporate clients.

The role of a Visiting Consultant presents an exciting opportunity to build and manage a private outpatient practice while contributing to inpatient services. Birmingham Wellbeing Centre provides administrative support for scheduling clinics. Referrals are managed centrally, so VCs do not need to generate their own. Priory also supports VCs with marketing and offers opportunities for media promotion.

Role Responsibilities:

2. Oversee inpatient care within your specialty.
3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of therapists and psychologists.
4. Participate in quality improvement and governance activities.
5. Expand your practice in line with Priory's reputation.

7. Maintain professional development and meet Revalidation requirements.

Candidate Profile:

• GMC registration with relevant specialist registration.
• Experience in psychiatry and substance misuse.
• Understanding of Clinical Governance and regulatory frameworks.
• Successful DBS check, funded by Priory.
