Be a part of it.Job Title: Consultant NeuropsychiatristService line: Male NeuropsychiatryProfessionally Accountable to: Medical DirectorManagerially Responsible to: Hospital ManagerWe are seeking an experienced full-time Consultant Neuropsychiatrist who will work at Cygnet Brunel and provide senior medical cover on Clipper Ward, our 10 bed male service for patients with brain injury and neurodegenerative conditions and Ketch Ward, our 6 bed male neuropsychiatric service focusing on Optimisation and Consolidation.The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients as required and will also have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines.Cygnet Brunel is our 32 bed male Neuropsychiatric hospital offering care and treatment for those affected by an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).The hospital with Triangle of Care Accredited CQC Good "soon to be outstanding", supports the Level 1 Neuropsychiatric Rehabilitation pathway for the South West and as such accommodates Level 1 & 2a patients across all of the wards; focusing on the service users individual needs in order to prioritize the ward location.Our specialist neuropsychiatric care and treatment service in Bristol is also rated 'Outstanding' by Headway, the Brain Injury Association.In this role, your expertise will be the driving force for life-changing treatment fully supported by a Specialty Doctor and first-class multidisciplinary team including qualified nurses, psychologist and occupational therapist.At Cygnet, our perks go way beyond pension schemes and excellent professional development.You'll also enjoy shopping, travel and leisure discounts - as well as a range of healthcare and financial benefits - to support you to be happy both in and out of work.Apply now to enjoy excellent career prospects while reaping the rewards of making a difference to others - every day.Main duties and Responsibilities Lead on the provision of high quality care to the service users admitted to Clipper and Ketch WardsAct as a positive role model, maintaining and demonstrating a positive attitude towards patients, their families, visitors and other staff.Take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary teamAssess referrals & undertake mental state examinations of service usersUndertake appropriate investigations, diagnosis & treatmentConduct ward rounds, patient reviews & clinical auditsLead the implementation of risk assessment, risk management & embed clinical governance within the serviceSupervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals & managers' hearings & attend hearingsLiaise with the Ministry of Justice for transfer of patients and approval of leave as requiredGood maintenance of patient recordsTo ensure and maintain regular communications with the Site Medical Director and Hospital ManagerTo communicate effectively through regular contact with patients, relatives, staff, directors, and any other concerned bodies; maintaining appropriate reports.Attend and contribute to academic meetings and adhere to the professional standards for CPD as set out by the GMC, the Department of Health and the Royal College of Psychiatrists.Contribute to the On call rotaWhy Cygnet?
