Consultant Medical Oncologist in Gynaecology & AOS

This is a full-time 10 PA Consultant Medical Oncologist post in Gynaecology and AOS, based at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, Sutton. The postholder will contribute to the Gynae Medical Oncology Unit and Acute Oncology Service, delivering high-quality patient care, supporting multidisciplinary working, and participating in the on-call rota. The role includes responsibilities in clinical leadership, education and training, and service development, alongside dedicated time for clinical and translational research in collaboration with the Institute of Cancer Research.
Main duties of the job- Deliver consultant-led care for patients with gynaecological cancers.
- Provide specialist advice and contribute to multidisciplinary team working.
- Participate in Acute Oncology Service and on-call rota.
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision and training.
- Contribute to service development, governance and quality improvement.
- Support and lead clinical and translational research activity.

Person Specification Status- Full registration and license to practice with the General Medical Council
- On the Specialist Register for Medical Oncology or within six months of obtaining a certificate of completion of training (CCT) at date of interview
- MBBS or approved overseas equivalent
- MRCP or approved overseas equivalent
- Higher Degree (PhD/MD)
- Eligibility to reside and work in the UK
- Subspecialty experience in gynaecological cancers, including the delivery of care for patients enrolled on interventional studies
- Experience in the set-up and delivery of interventional clinical trials
- Track record of translational research and leadership
- Experience of service improvement
- Experience of grant application and/or securing external research funding
- Established national or international collaborative research networks
- Experience engaging with industry partners, including securing commercially sponsored research funding and/or collaborative agreements
- The ability to work in collaboration with consultant colleagues in other disciplines and across RM Partners
- Ability to provide academic and scientific leadership within a multidisciplinary research environment
