Consultant in Donor Medicine

As a Consultant in Donor Medicine at NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), you will help keep donors safe and well while supporting the NHS to deliver the right blood and blood products to patients when they need them.
Main duties of the jobYou will lead clinical decision-making on donor suitability and follow-up, provide expert advice to colleagues and clinicians, and shape national policy through clinical governance, audit, teaching and research. Working across sites and teams, you will influence how we improve donor selection, manage adverse events and strengthen the quality of our services. This is a rare opportunity to combine clinical leadership with a clear, national impact on donor and patient outcomes.

Person Specification Qualifications- Full and Specialist or General Practice registration (and a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or eligible for registration within six months of interview).
- Training and experience equivalent to that required for entry to the specialist register.
- Broad knowledge of general medicine.
- Wide experience in general medical specialties or general practice.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
