Applicants are invited for the post of Consultant in Clinical Neurophysiology (7PA) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and dynamic department of Clinical Neurophysiology. Although based in Addenbrooke's we also provide neurophysiological services to Papworth Hospital and a number of regional District General Hospitals. This is a replacement post based in Addenbrooke's.

Main duties of the job

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Clinical Neurophysiology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

This role involves outpatient nerve conduction/EMG clinics as well as seeing inpatients on the wards or intensive care. In addition, the successful candidate will report EEG, ambulatory EEG and diagnostic video telemetry (but not pre-surgical recordings). The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the wider neurosciences activity in CUH, including presenting neurophysiology at Grand Rounds, teaching, collaborative research and MDT meetings.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
