Role Purpose

This post is an opportunity to join an expanding dynamic histopathology service.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain throughout the hospital, awareness of the primacy of the patient in relation to all of the Hospital's activities
• Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the Values of the Hospital.
• Promote open communications throughout the hospital.
• Will work as part of a multidisciplinary team under the direction of the hospital CEO.
• Will possess the necessary skill-mix to address current deficiencies.
• Will provide clinical leadership in MDT context.
• Deliver high-quality diagnostic histopathology services.
• Lead and/or support quality assurance, audits, and INAB accreditation efforts.
• Engage in continuous service improvement.
• Work collaboratively with hospital management and clinical leads.

Qualifications/Experience

• Expertise in Dermatopathology is essential. Additional expertise in Gastrointestinal Pathology or Hematopathology is desirable.
• Specialist registration with the Medical Council of Ireland in Histopathology.
• Strong communication and leadership skills in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Experience in clinical governance, laboratory accreditation (ISO 15189), and quality improvement.
