Applications are invited for the role of Consultant Haematologist in the field of Cellular Therapies. This post offers an exciting opportunity for a Consultant wanting to work in the field of Cellular Therapy in a world-leading centre. The post holder would be looking after patients undergoing Cellular Therapy for Lymphoma and Myeloma and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia as part of the Cell Therapy team and also looking after CLL/Lymphoma patients as part of the wider CLL/Lymphoma team. This post holder would play a key role in shaping the Cellular Therapy Programme to help develop and inform long term strategy in the trust.
Main duties of the job- Be key member of the Consultant Team involved in management of Cellular Therapy Patients undergoing inpatient and outpatient care at RM Sutton and RM Chelsea.
- Be key member of the Consultant Team looking after inpatients and outpatients with CLL/Lymphoma at RM Sutton and RM Chelsea
- To be involved in the strategic development of Cellular Therapy services for RMH
- To take part in the teaching and training of doctors, nurses and other staff in Cellular Therapies and CLL/Lymphoma management.
- To contribute to academic research.

Person specification Status- Full and specialist registration (and a licence to practice) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or eligible for registration within six months of interview
- Applicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview. Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
- FRCPath or evidence of equivalent qualification MRCP, or evidence of equivalent qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in transplantation, acute haematology and care of critically ill haematology patient
- Higher Research Degree (MD/PhD)
- Motivated to ensure the achievement of defined targets
- Organisation of education and training of junior doctors and/or undergraduates
- Undertaken research in relevant field
- Teaching of medical students and junior medical staff
- Experience of Audit and Service Evaluation
- Trained Clinical Supervisor
- Trained Educational Supervisor
- Publications in recognised medical and haematology journals
- Specialist Interest in Cellular Therapy
- Research Projects related to specialist area

Flu Vaccination - What We Expect of our Staff
At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
